Face Jugs and Tiles with Lauren Gallion
Four classes in two weeks:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 27, 29, August 3 & 5
3:30 until 5:30 PM
$80 Members; $100 Non-Members

Spaces are still available in the four day pottery class open to teens and adults. Professional ceramist Lauren Gallion will come with pre-thrown jugs. Students will learn how to fashion and attach a face. Face jugs will be fired, glazed and fired again. In addition, students will create decorative ceramic tiles. Due to the popularity of her first class, Jessie McCann returns to offer a second two day wire wrapping jewelry class open to teens and adults. Jessie will teach students to make new designs different from those learned in the first class. These include beautiful and funky rings, bracelets and key chains made by wrapping beads and stones with wire. Paintings from the Museum's Permanent Collection

This exhibition features 16 Hudson River School landscapes collected during the early years of the Hickory Museum of Art by Museum Founder & first Director, Paul Whitener. Most of the works are oil paintings, but the show also includes one drawing and two etchings. Notable artists include Thomas Cole, Asher B. Durand, Thomas Worthington Whittredge, John Frederick Kensett and more.
