Field trips are available year round for groups of all ages. Reservations must be made with the education department in advance.

School group tours are available that compliment classroom learning. Educational staff and trained volunteers employ students in a variety of teaching strategies that engage students and motivate them to become active participants in their own learning experience. A variety of the NC Standard course of study objectives are met for most age groups. Tours last approximately 1 ½ hour and include a hands-on art experience for students. Cost: $2 per student. Tour only with no activity is $1 per student.

Summer Camp groups from other organizations are welcome to come to HMA for tours also. Interactive gallery tours along with a hands on project campers take home Cost $2 per student.

Seniors' tours are available for the cost of $1 per participant. Seniors will view all exhibitions with a docent or educator. Tours last approximately 1 hour.

Preschool group tours available. Preschoolers visit the galleries to discuss simple shapes, colors, and lines in art. Stories and  games may be included in the tour along with a hands-on art activity. Cost: $2 per student  Program last approx. 1-1 ¼ hour.

Group tours must have a minimum of 10 participants.
